Hi there! I have some exciting news I’ve been keeping to myself. (And it’s been so hard!!!) I’ve done a guest blog post for HanJan Crochet!
Hannah was lovely to work with and extremely supportive. The post is on the ubiquitous granny square and its history. It was surprisingly interesting to research and write. You can find the post here. It also showcases some of Hannah’s beautiful work and patterns using granny squares.
Just a quick pop in today! Enjoy your day and the post!
Interesting. my mom uses her scraps this way and not just squares. Instead of black borders I noticed she uses white more often.

I think I’d prefer white. Maybe it would get too dirty back then to make it practical?

Maybe. The white gives the work à festive or livelier look.

It does! In spite of all the color it would make me think of a funeral or something. The white seems like it would set it off more.
